Matching Musicians and Cities
Materials: Map of the United States (optional), Handout, Musician Biographies
To complete the activity at the bottom of the accompanying handout, students must first identify the cities located on the map of the United States by writing the appropriate name in the numbered space that corresponds to the circled number on the map. This can be done either individually, in small groups, or with the entire class.
Students must then read the biographies of the musicians listed in the activity to determine the cities they are associated with (hint: the correct cities are highlighted in bold). To match the musician with their city, have students draw a line that connects the name of the musician with the city on the numbered space.
